California Trucking Association Names TLC Employee Edward Hutchings The 2006 Driver of the Year
We are very proud to announce that Edward Hutchings has received the top honor of Driver of the Year from the CTA. Edward is based out of Stockton, CA and was selected from a pool of hundreds of truck drivers. He was chosen because of his hard work, dedication and exemplary driving record. Hutchings was nominated by Doug Anderson, TLC Operations Manager.
Hutchings has more than 36 years of driving experience and over 4,000,000 miles driven. He has been devoted to serving a single account, Coastal Pacific Food Distributors, for the last 4 years. "He is very well liked by customers and co-workers and is seen as a role model by everyone he works with," says Paul Driskell, CEO of TLC Logistics Management. The CPFD Transportation Manager, Val Cabanig, considers Hutchings "The fastest snow chainer in the west!."
This exceptional driver is also an honored Vietnam War veteran. During his free time, Hutchings stays very active and fit while competing in karate and judo. He loves the outdoors, camping, and fishing. He is also a very dedicated family man with 5 children, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Hutchings says, "My wife is like the American Express card, I never leave home without her!"
Edward is a superb driver. He is a pleasure to work with, is a role model for co-workers and is a valued member of the TLC family! Congratulations Edward!

The CTA Driver of the Month program is one of the nation's most intense driver award programs. The selections are made on the following basis: a) A long and continuous safety record. b) Any contributions to highway safety. c) Outstanding acts of courtesy on the highway. d) Any deeds of heroism on the highway. e) Also considered are civil and fraternal group activities, company safety and training projects, truck driving championships, other driving skills and safety awards.
