This Year's "A Season To Believe" Gala
Brings Celebration and Giving to LHSOC

The fourth annual "Power of the Dream: A Season to Believe" Gala took place on Sept. 23 and was a smashing success in assembling a wonderful group of people who are dedicated to the success of the LHSOC mission and in raising funds to support that mission. The evening was made very special by the high priority placed on friendship, unity, faith and philanthropy by our community. Whether a seasoned Gala veteran, or a first-time attendee, it was a terrific night of talent, treasures and togetherness.

The evening included a huge silent auction on the piazza, followed by a strolling dinner in the gymnasium which was beautifully decorated for the event. And, a spirited live auction featured an incredible array of items. The night was capped off with a dazzling performance in the impressive Nechita Center from the school's choral groups plus special guest singer Siedah Garrett, along with several heartfelt reminiscences by alumni.

Here are a few interesting statistics from the evening:
  • 550 guests attended, up from 400 in 2005
  • 35 creative and driven committee members, 100 tireless volunteers, 220 gifted students, and a handful of amazing technicians all helped make the night unique
  • Special thanks to the LHS Ambassadors Program that provided our student ushers and check-out runners
  • 150 items were auctioned off in the courtyard; 14 in the gym
The bottom line was a total of $250,000 raised to support LHSOC's current and future students.
