OLO Forges Bonds with Elected Officials and
Business Leaders at Special Events

Dr. Ken Ellwein, Executive Director of the Lutheran High School Association of Orange County, and Lutheran High School Principal Gregg Pinick recently had the opportunity to bring the OLO program to the attention of influential area business leaders as well as national and local elected officials at two recent events. The contacts made at these occasions hold important potential for building awareness and support for Orange Lutheran Online, while enabling LHSOC and OLO leadership to stay on top of current issues in education from the perspective of these important groups.

A recent New Majority event, attended by Dr. Ellwein, was the setting for an update from former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich on meeting the significant challenges the country faces in developing long-term energy solutions, staying competitive on the technology front, and addressing the ongoing issues in delivering a quality education for the country's youth.

Principal Pinick had a unique opportunity to build awareness for the Orange Lutheran Online program's potential involvement in China with an influential individual from that part of the world. He attended an intimate gathering hosted by the U.S. Senate Advisory Committee and Committee Chairman Jack Hu. The contact with Mr. Hu was especially timely, coming shortly before Pinick left for China to make presentations at the upcoming Asia Lutheran Education Conference in Shanghai.
