"Construction on the Garden Grove Freeway (SR-22) Improvement Project is nearly complete! The SR-22 Project, slated for substantial completion in November 2006, will enhance traffic flow and remove bottlenecks along the 12-mile stretch of the SR-22."

Magnolia Street Added As Full Bridge Replacement

As part of the Garden Grove Freeway (SR-22) Improvement Project, the Magnolia Street bridge will be replaced. Due to recent federal funding received by the city of Garden Grove, the Magnolia Street bridge was modified from a widening to a full replacement to accommodate the city's future plans to widen the roadway below. OCTA has absorbed this modification as part of the current project to avoid additional cost and reduce future impacts to motorists.

The SR-22 Project is slated for completion in November 2006 and the Magnolia Street bridge replacement will be complete in March 2007. The Magnolia Street bridge delay is in direct correlation with the late of receipt of additional funding. The opening of the carpool and auxiliary lanes that cross over the bridge will take place once the bridge is complete.
