Construction Update
 
With the Garden Grove Freeway (SR-22) Improvement Project more than halfway complete, the "New 22" is nearly here! Here is a snapshot of completed improvements, to date, to deliver a safer, faster and easier commute:
  • New bridge decks have been poured at Newhope Street and Taft Street in Garden Grove.

  • Construction to replace the eastbound SR-22 connector to the northbound I-5/SR-57 connector is underway.

  • 25 out of 35 bridges are under construction.

  • There are 4 pile driving rigs working continuously throughout the project corridor.

  • 35% of paving operations are complete.

  • 75% of retaining walls are complete.

  • 32% of soundwalls are complete.
