In the first six months of the SR-22 Improvement Project, OCTA has:
Developed a database of 2,500 local residents, businesses and community leaders to ensure they receive regular updates about freeway improvements.
Hosted six “open house” meetings in English, Spanish, Korean and Vietnamese to provide project information to the county’s diverse cultural communities.
Conducted 30 neighborhood meetings before major construction in near-by areas, answering questions from more than 350 people.
Distributed more than 35 different “construction alerts” to more than 7,000 residents and businesses, enabling them to identify a safe and quick alternative route while avoiding construction areas.
Established the SR-22 web site as an interactive, informative tool for visitors to conveniently view project updates and sign up for e-mail or fax alerts. The web site is updated daily and receives over 5,000 “hits” every month.
Provided assistance to more than 200 phone calls to OCTA’s Transportation Helpline, providing another reliable source for project information.
Developed educational tools including a project brochure, Frequently Asked Questions, Fact Sheets, City Drive and Beach Blvd. Before and After Pictorial and Construction Description, Utility Bill Inserts and 100-day Milestone Postcard Mailers, enabling people to visualize the improvements that will enhance their commute.
Developed a speakers bureau to proactively inform local service and community groups and businesses about the many freeway improvements. To request a presentation for your group, click here.
Keeping you informed of construction developments while delivering a safer, faster and easier commute – OCTA’s commitment to Orange County commuters.
