Welcome,

Signature Event To Focus on Education Solutions for California and Beyond

It's no secret that California is facing a crisis of historic proportions in its public school system. Ongoing state budget woes are generating significant teacher layoffs, increased class sizes and limits on curriculum, not to mention extracurricular activities. And the high school dropout rate is at an all-time high.

That's why we are working with host Insight Schools to bring together an outstanding group of experts to address "Education Solutions for California 2010" at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30, at Chapman University's Argyros School of Business.

Critical education issues to be addressed will include:
  • Challenges and alternatives in the changing landscape of public education
  • Education from a business perspective, using online technology for communication and training
  • Critical importance of high school performance for post-secondary success
  • Delivering effective online education to maximize student potential
Please join us for this very important event. Click here to register.

KCOMM, Keenan and Insight Schools Co-host YMCA Youth and Government
Over 2,500 Next-Generation Leaders Convene in Sacramento

KCOMM and clients Keenan & Associates and Insight Schools have announced the formation of a relationship with the California YMCA Youth & Government program which was kicked off on Friday, February 12, 2010, during the VIP day for this year's 62nd Youth & Government Model Legislature and Court, which took place February 11-15 in Sacramento.

"This initiative is an excellent opportunity for KCOMM to extend its close relationships with local communities, governing bodies and schools where we can help make an impact at a high level for these kids," said Sinan Kanatsiz, CEO. "I've personally witnessed this program changing the lives of youth. The average acceptance rate into college is 90% after completing this program."

The relationship will encompass three aspects. The first is resource support from KCOMM and clients enabling YMCA youth to participate in Youth & Government activities. The second is an opportunity for YMCA Youth & Government participants to attend KCOMM Signature events and meet with elected officials and CEOs. The third is a set of mentoring sessions at KCOMM's client offices where Youth & Government participants will engage in small-group and one-on-one mentoring with high-level business professionals. "Our client Keenan has been incredibly generous in all three of these catagories and we are proud to play a small role in this monumental relationship," adds Kanatsiz.

The YMCA Youth & Government program provides hands-on, educational simulation experiences designed to inspire young people to become active and concerned participants in government as citizens. Because delegates come from a wide range of backgrounds, KCOMM's commitment will provide resources to ensure youth to attend these events.

Meg Whitman and Elon Musk Highlight Lyon Air Museum Gathering
Event Honors U.S. Congressman Ken Calvert

The brand-new and very impressive Lyon Air Museum at John Wayne Airport was the venue for the most recent gathering in the KCOMM Congressional Event Series. Held in honor of U.S. Congressman Ken Calvert, guests were welcomed to the striking facility with vintage World War II aircraft on display by General William Lyon, who spoke eloquently about his motivations for achieving his long-held dream of providing such a facility for Southern California.

The event featured special guest Meg Whitman, former CEO of eBay and current candidate for Governor of California. Whitman addressed her priorities for the state including job creation and preservation, revitalization of the state's public education system, and limits on government spending.

Keynote speaker was Elon Musk, Founder of PayPal and currently Founder and CEO of Tesla Motors and SpaceX as well as Chairman of SolarCity. He presented his vision for clean-energy technology in the automotive and solar power markets, plus the future of commercial space travel.

Also on display were several innovative electric vehicles developed by T3 Motion. The Costa Mesa-based company has built a leadership position in the clean-energy arena, particularly with its flagship three-wheeled T3 Series electric standup vehicle (ESV). The T3 Series is deployed worldwide in a broad range of applications including law enforcement, private security, airports, campuses and military installations.
