Focus Group Helps Insight Schools Serve Students in L.A. County
Session Gathered Key Information on At-Risk Youth

Given the current state of education in California, many high school students are in need of alternative solutions for their education. KCOMM facilitated a focus group session for Insight School of California - Los Angeles in Sherman Oaks, CA to gauge public opinion on education and education alternatives.

Twenty-four students and parents from the greater Los Angeles area were recruited at random to participate in a discussion on current education pros and cons, alternative solutions and online education. The results will be analyzed by Insight Schools to further improve their outreach to the community and to youth who could benefit from an online approach. KCOMM will also launch an online survey for Insight Schools based on the focus group results to gather further results.

Insight School of California - Los Angeles is the premier full-time, diploma-granting, online, public high school offered tuition-free for California residents in Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Ventura and Kern counties. Insight is educating a broad group of high-school-age youth who, for a variety of reasons, need an alternative to the traditional high school experience. Insight students earn their diploma in a personalized, student-led, teacher-facilitated program where they can complete their studies at their own speed and in their own setting using a school-supplied laptop computer.
