Welcome

Energy and the environment is a topic that's on everyone's mind, from the President on down to daily commuters. And, as one of the Obama administration's top priorities, clean technology is gaining more attention than ever before.

An innovative company right here in Orange County has been hard at work with groundbreaking developments in clean energy technology in the vehicle and transportation market. T3 Motion in Costa Mesa has applied fundamental expertise in battery and power management to a family of zero-emission electric vehicles, including the T3 series electric stand-up vehicle (or "ESV") used in community policing, military security, retail center asset protection and wide range of other application.

We are very pleased to be working with T3 Motion and to have an opportunity to participate in the clean technology convergence.

Sincerely,

Sinan Kanatsiz

Online high school expands into O.C. - KCOMM Client, Insight Schools

Charter school hopes to recruit more local students by promoting technology.

Imagine earning a high school diploma without ever stepping into a classroom.

About 50 Orange County students are doing just that, through the Insight School of California-Los Angeles - an online charter school with about 600 students from the Kern, Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Ventura counties.

With the loan of a laptop and printer, Insight students attend classes any time Monday through Friday, interact with classmates and teachers during weekly live online sessions and participate in about 30 student organizations, Executive Director Sheila Shiebler said. Occasional field trips encourage student interaction.

Charter schools, like Insight, are alternatives to traditional school models. They receive state funding to support academic requirements for students, but school leaders have to pay for buildings, furniture and other facility needs. Charter schools can't charge tuition.

Insight appears to be the only school offering an entirely online education in Orange County, but other schools have made forays into the area. The Newport-Mesa Unified School District and Lutheran High School of Orange County both offer online programs.

Financial Services to Production - The Story Behind the Stoning of Soraya M
Special Column by Thomas Papa, CEO, Creso Capital, Executive Producer

After Thomas "Tommy" J. Papa earned his MBA from University of Southern California, he spent several years in Southeast Europe in the former Yugoslavia supporting economic development for small-and-middle market companies in the war affected regions. Upon his return to the U.S. he started CRESO Capital Partners, an investment bank with access to more than $250 million in capital, and currently invests and lends capital to established privately held and profitable companies. His most recent personal venture is turning out to be one of the most fulfilling.

Just a little under two years ago, Papa partnered with several business leaders including Hollywood Director Cyrus Nowrasteh (The Path to 9/11) to create Prime Meridian Pictures to finance films that support the social ideals of democracy, freedom and human rights, while having mass audience appeal. The company's first project, "The Stoning of Soraya M," is currently in release nationwide (Theater Locations) and has already received acclaim as a second runner up to Slumdog Millionaire as the Audience Favorite at last year's Toronto Film Festival and has also won the Audience Award at the LA Film Festival in June 2009. As an Executive Producer of the film, which was produced in association with MPower Pictures' Stephen McEveety (Braveheart and Passion of the Christ), he was very proud that in less than two years to get the first project on the big-screen and to get such support and notoriety for such an important cause is beyond comprehension.
