Welcome

As the country marks an historic milestone with the inauguration of President Barack Obama, we at KCOMM are looking ahead to new opportunities in our sphere of influence as we continue to pursue our mission of "Helping Clients Create Change." Personally, I am making a swing around the country and through Canada to experience the Inaugural festivities, meet with key GOP leadership, visit clients, explore new business opportunities, and meet with an important technology partner. With the excitement that a new year engenders, we are bringing new services into place to support our clients in innovative and valuable ways including legal services, youth marketing, online media placement, and multicultural relations. We hope your prospects are just as exhilarating and that the new year brings you success and fulfillment.

KCOMM Expands Key Strategic Resources
Search Engines and Youth Marketing Are Focus

To further strengthen its capabilities in two key strategic areas, KCOMM has added resources that bring expertise of value to many of its clients. The first area is the ever evolving pursuit of high rankings for client web sites on search engines. Our search engine optimization (SEO) team has been expanded to include two specialists in overall SEO techniques, Mike Majumdar and Sandy Chatterjee, plus a specialist in organic linking, Andy Ghosh.

The second dimension of KCOMM's capabilities enhancement is the addition of Roger Sanchez as Director of Social Media and Youth Ambassador. Roger's experience includes journalism, computer programming, social media and other skills that will provide an important resource for all KCOMM clients. He will also contribute an important perspective and experience in helping to shape the agency's work for clients serving a youth demographic.

Internet Overtakes Paper as Primary News Source
Growing Number of People Rely on Web for News

According to the latest Pew Research Center survey, more people cited the Internet than newspapers as their primary source for news. In the survey, 40% of the respondents said they obtained most of their national and international news from the Internet, up sharply from 24% in 2007. Newspapers remain the top source for 35%. That's about even with the past three years, but down significantly from 50% as surveyed in 2003.

The Internet's gain in 2008 was partly fueled by the heated Presidential election, during which a record number of people flocked to the Web daily to get their political news. But the survey also confirmed perhaps the worst-kept secret in the media industry, that the viability of the printed press is in grave danger. Click here to read the full article
