Hello,

This month, we're spotlighting two activities in particular that illustrate significant trends with an impact on everyone. The first focuses on the crucial importance of improving the quality and results for our public education system via a transformation underway using technology and the Internet to meet the needs of today's high school students. The second activity highlights our ongoing commitment to bringing the nation's top economic experts and area business leaders together to address timely trends and pressing issues facing global development. These issues have a direct effect on companies, families and individuals everywhere.

Sincerely,

Sinan Kanatsiz

KCOMM Manages 30-City Insight School RV Road Show
Trip Promotes Innovative Online Public High School

Insight Schools, the nation's leading online public high school program, is on the road with a 36-foot RV visiting over 30 cities throughout the state of California. KCOMM is managing this exciting project including high-impact vehicle graphics, crew recruitment, event/venue identification in each city, routing schedule, daily on-the-spot reports, dedicated tour web site, and media relations along the way. The RV is cruising from San Clemente to the San Francisco Bay area then back through the central valley to southern California, visiting communities and creating friendships with students and families along the way to inform them about this very innovative online school.

The tour has been created primarily to support the opening of the new Insight School of California - North Bay in northern California and will also support the central and southern California counties served by the existing Insight School of California - Los Angeles. Each Insight School is a tuition-free, diploma-granting, online public high school designed for students seeking an alternative to the traditional brick-and-mortar school environment. Online education can provide vital answers to issues facing public schools as they confront budget cuts, large classes, high dropout rates and other challenges.

With a curriculum of over 120 courses and a very high level of personal attention and support for each student, the school also provides a wireless laptop, reimbursement for Internet access, and all materials for required classes. Insight Schools is affiliated with University of Phoenix, the largest private university in North America and a leader in online education. PIMCO Executive Outlines Challenges Facing Global Business
Emerging Markets and Real Estate Playing Key Roles

Paul McCulley, Managing Director and Portfolio Manager for PIMCO, shared his expert perspective on "Global Rebalancing" at an exclusive Wealth Management Network (www.thewmn.com) gathering on June 12 at the Newport Center Conference Room located in Fashion Island, Newport Beach. PIMCO is one of the largest specialty fixed income management firms in the world, with more than $800 billion in assets under management and 1,000 employees in offices around the world.

Highlights of McCulley's presentation included:
  • Emerging markets are a factor of epic proportions in a transformational process and should not be shortchanged as they move from mass production to mass consumption economies.
  • Emerging markets will continue to put upward pressure on raw material prices, resulting in higher commodity prices.
  • The marginal price setter is the pools of wealth built up by emerging countries, especially those with oil reserves, as people move out of capital markets.
  • Assets are overpriced, and the U.S. economy is going to be less vibrant with a slow moving property market.
  • A plummeting number of post-bubble transactions is leading to a power shift in the U.S.
Overall, McCulley observed that the economy has enjoyed a 27-year run with an invisible hand versus an iron fist of government guiding the overall environment through the democratic process and the private sector.
