Hello,

As we launch bravely into a brand new year, we at KCOMM are rededicating ourselves to addressing issues of significance to all of us. Those concerns encompass next generation innovations in key areas such as energy, education, technology, the economy, healthcare, world hunger and security. These topics have a global reach, which is why we are now anchored in locations including Dallas, New York City, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Argentina, Istanbul, Deli and California. And we will continue to leverage leading edge communications environments like YouTube, FaceBook and other social media to tie in with leaders in other nations and focus on creating impact.

A pivotal event this year, of course, is the U.S. presidential election that is dominating news headlines and stands to set records as a billion-dollar campaign, click here for a dynamic candidate money chart. Also, we would like to know who you see as the front runner at this pivotal stage.

The medium has over 60,000,000 users today and is estimated to reach 200,000,000 by the end of the year. In This Issue...
Challenges in Education Demand Commitment, Innovation
Dropout Rates Continue High While Students Want Flexibility

Education reform remains a top priority for KCOMM. Recent statistics from Insight Schools highlight the reasons why change is crucial:

The average US high school dropout rate is 30% across the nation. Reason for dropping out include earning money for the family (32%), caring for a family member (26%), or becoming a parent (22%) yet 88% indicated that they had passing grades before leaving school. Students want access to computers, the Internet and schoolwork anytime day or night, including access at home.

KCOMM has built strategic partnerships with the University of Phoenix and Lutheran High School of Orange County to move ahead an innovative online high school program that complements an increasingly Internet-dependent society. The momentum is building quickly for these kinds of programs, with hundreds of students enrolling, national media coverage, and we are very pleased to have the opportunity to address these issues by giving students more options to meet their individual educational needs.

Secrets of the Internet Inspire Orange County Executives
Keeping Up with Rapid Change Is Key to Business Success

KCOMM CEO Sinan Kanatsiz was joined by nominee for Orange County Sheriff Bill Hunt on January 15, 2008 for a presentation on Internet marketing and technology in law enforcement for the Orange County Executive Network (OCEN), at the Pacific Club, Newport Beach.

Kanatsiz's encore OCEN presentation on the secrets of the Internet focused on the U.S. economic landscape, Internet marketing strategies for businesses, search engine optimization, and implementation of e-mail marketing initiatives as well insights on social media such as FaceBook and YouTube. The presentation was designed to help the assembled business leaders use the Internet to their advantage when putting together their own integrated Internet marketing strategy.

The key factor in purchasing decisions among B2B professionals in North America are manufacturers' websites. U.S. e-mail marketing spending will reach $2.1 billion by 2011. U.S. outdoor advertising is expanding to new mediums such as electronic video billboards. 72% of U.S. adult Internet users researched someone's personal information online. By 2012, the number of social media users will grow to over 1 billion. Search engine optimization is enhanced through HTML coding and textual content of a website supported by a consistent strategy of producing new content. Social networking sites such as FaceBook that emphasize online collaboration and sharing among users are effective tools for Internet marketing. The average user spends 3.47 hours per week participating in online social media. YouTube is the third most visited website in the world.

Jeff Cole, KCOMM's Director of YouTube Marketing, also discussed the growth of YouTube and how to maximize the marketing potential as a result of its increasing popularity.

Bill Hunt offered a behind-the-scenes look at how technology is being used in law enforcement. His presentation included technology reform for the Sheriff's office. Bill is the key to progress in Orange County law enforcement, and his discussion provided insight into his remarkable character and determination to create positive change in our community.

Bill is endorsed by San Clemente Mayor Joe Anderson, Councilmember and Mayor Pro Tem Lori Donchak, Councilmember Jim Dahl and Councilmember Wayne Eggleston as well as Cypress Mayor Todd Seymore, Former Cypress Mayor Mike McGill, La Palma Mayor Henry Charoen, Irvine Councilwoman Christina Shea, San Juan Capistrano Councilmember Lon Uso, Villa Park Councilwoman Deborah Pauly, Costa Mesa Councilman Allan Mansoor, South Orange Community College Board Trustee Nancy Padberg and Santa Ana Unified School District Trustee Rosie Avila.
