Hello,

Welcome to the Special Global Edition of the KCOMM Communications Alert. We are pleased to announce our company's expansion in Dubai, naming Ardem Antibian, Managing Director, KCOMM Dubai. Our expectation is to serve 15 clients from that office in 2008.

Dubai is the next big thing, so we had to visit in person to confirm it. We had one of the most astounding and intriguing experiences while visiting the diverse region and solidifying our new operations. We hear a lot on the news about this emerging center of global business and recreational activity, but being in Dubai was truly a mind blowing experience!

Consider the following:

  • Strong dollar in Dubai ($1 million will buy a five-bedroom estate on the water)
  • Unmatched pace of building 24/7/365 except during prayer time
  • Initiatives on women in leadership, healthcare and security
  • Economy with a strong base in real estate and lifestyle/tourism
  • Area equivalent to Manhattan being developed all at once on a man-made island
  • Major trend of U.S. companies going public on other global stock exchanges like the United Kingdom, China and the United Arab Emirates, with U.S. regulations such as Sarbanes Oxley as a prime motivation
  • Innovative "colony" development approach with self-contained areas for media, financial, real estate and other industries

KCOMM Presents at New Majority Campaign Workshop
Personal Image Can Be Just as Critical as Message

KCOMM President Jeff Montejano offered words of wisdom during a presentation to aspiring political candidates at a recent campaign workshop hosted by The New Majority, one of California's leading political action committees, based in Orange County. Jeff was one of a prestigious group of speakers that included former California Senate Republican Leader Jim Brulte, Governor Schwarzenegger's fundraiser Renee Croce, and renowned national pollster Steve Kinney, to name a few.

Montejano described how, in the political arena, oftentimes image can be everything. While traditional political issues remain important, it's "the person" that matters more and more to voters as they consider the various political candidates. A helpful tip Montejano gave to these upcoming leaders: "Be yourself, yet remember your audience. While you must have a message that resonates with your audience, you must also know that the image you portray is equally important."

With a decade of experience in public relations, public affairs and politics, on both the government and agency sides, Montejano served in the California State Legislature in multiple capacities, including chief of staff and deputy chief of staff. He has also worked on several federal and state political campaigns.
