Portobello Estate Lends Unique Coastal Ambience to KCOMM Signature Event
VIP Gathering Hears Economic Update by Dr. Jim Doti

Portobello mushrooms are renowned as a culinary delight. And the same can certainly be said from an architectural perspective of the unique Portobello Estate in Corona Del Mar. This 30,000-sq-ft. masterpiece perched along the dramatic southern California shoreline in a spectacular and unique style has been featured by Oprah and other national media.

On the evening of September 19, it was the venue for an exclusive gathering of community, business and government leaders who convened for a special economic update from Dr. Jim Doti, President of Chapman University, as well as for great conversation, food, wine and an opportunity to tour this stunning home. Dr. Doti offered an expert update and projection on the state of the economy in view of the recent turbulence in the real estate market.

The event also provided an occasion to introduce two important newcomers to southern California to the group of notable people in attendance who play significant roles throughout the region. Keith Rhodes recently moved to the area from New Orleans to become Executive Director of Girls and Boys Town of Southern California. And Jeff McBride has come from Houston to serve as President and CEO of the YMCA of Orange County.
