Hello,

The variety of interactions our work brings us never ceases to amaze. And, more importantly, the opportunity to impact lives in our community and the nation by helping to affect change is what gives those interactions real depth and meaning. This month, we heard the perspectives of Presidential hopeful Fred Thompson and well-known business author John Maxwell. Our expansion to the East Coast is moving rapidly. And we are creating a very special VIP event at one of the world's most spectacular coastal homes, featuring a leading economist, and benefiting the youth of Orange County. Keeping our focus on making a difference is what gives our work a purpose and meaning every day.

Coast to coast, our goal is to create change, generate opportunities and bring people together. Creating purpose in our events, relationships and services are the hallmark that drives KCOMM's innovation and future. We look forward to collaborating with you in the years to come.

Sincerely,

Sinan Kanatsiz

World's Smallest Horse Delights Youngsters at Tilly's Baby Home
Girls and Boys Town of Southern California Hosts Special Visit

Tuesday, August 14, was a very big day for some small children and their equally diminutive special guest at the Tilly's Baby Home operated by Girls and Boys Town of Southern California. That guest was Thumbelina, the world's smallest horse, on tour as part of a nationwide charity fundraising effort.

KCOMM gained local newspaper and television coverage for the event as part of the agency's work in providing public relations, Internet marketing, and donor development services for Girls and Boys Town. The Tilly's Baby Home opened in June 2005 as a shelter for keeping together "sibling sets" of children when they are required to leave their home during a family crisis situation. The facility provides a loving, family-style environment for these young brothers and sisters.

At a mere 17 1/2 inches tall, Guinness World Records certified Thumbelina as the "World's Smallest Living Horse" on July 7, 2006 and has since certified her as the smallest horse in history. She was born on May 1, 2001 at Goose Creek Farms, a miniature horse farm near St. Louis, Missouri, owned by Paul and Kay Goessling.

KCOMM and Government Leaders To Host YMCA Event
VIP Gathering Kicks Off Santa Ana Branch Capital Campaign

Crevier BMW CEO Don Crevier and Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido will host a special, invitation-only event on September 20 at Crevier Classic Cars supporting the YMCA of Orange County's milestone capital project for the building a brand-new YMCA branch in Santa Ana next to the new Segerstrom High School.

The new facility will enable the YMCA to provide much needed services to more than 168,000 Orange County residents within its service area of Santa Ana, South Coast Metro and parts of Tustin - including some 12,000 children and teens who live within walking distance.

The project has been generously jumpstarted by donation of the prime 2.5-acre site from C.J. Segerstrom & Sons and by gifts of $4 million from the Van Cleve Foundation Trust and $500,000 from Sares-Regis Group.

T-Mobile Retains KCOMM in Orange County
As a Result of Success in LA County, Client Expands Agency Work Responsibility

Telecommunications giant T-Mobile once again retained KCOMM to provide government relations and strategic counsel in the Orange County market, with KCOMM working with county and city governments on behalf of T-Mobile to ensure their jurisdictions effectively meet public demand for growing cellular services.

T-Mobile is a national provider of the latest and best technologies for high-quality, consistent connection to voice calls, data, e-mail, and more, capable of reaching over 268 million Americans. Now, T-Mobile is working to improve cell phone service in Orange and Los Angeles Counties and other southern California jurisdictions.

KCOMM has also provided government relations services for T-Mobile in L.A. County, where a draft wireless telecommunication ordinance supported by T-Mobile was recently approved by the County's Planning Commission. The ordinance will go before the County Board of Supervisors within the next couple of months.

KCOMM Helps Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) Get Word Out on Local TV
Television Medium Extends Reach to Multiple Target Demographics

When it comes to "keeping Orange County moving," the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) is the agency meeting that crucial task by delivering safer, faster, and more efficient transportation solutions in the region. OCTA recently enlisted KCOMM to develop video public service announcements (PSA's) to effectively educate and update Orange County residents, commuters, OCTA customers and others about various transportation projects designed to improve their commute. Here's how.

KCOMM produced a series of PSA's, with assistance from KOCE-TV and Jeff Cole Productions, to build awareness among OCTA's audiences about such projects and programs as an open-access carpool lane program, progress of the I-5 Freeway Gateway Project near Buena Park and a major study of possible transportation improvements in south Orange County.

These PSA's are now airing on local cable TV channels for cities throughout Orange County, reaching residents in the entire county. And, you can now watch this latest round of PSA's right here - simply click the links below! To learn more about these projects and others, visit OCTA's web site at www.octa.net.

Sinan's perspective on Fred Thompson and Paso Robles
What Do Fred Thompson and Andrew Firestone Have in Common?

While wine tasting in Paso Robles, CA we stopped by Firestone Winery and were treated to great hospitality. What impressed us the most was their attention to detail and combined product offering to include vintage bottles in addition to the most recent harvest. Another TV personality I ran into this month includes Fred Thompson, who visited Orange County to present his intentions of running for office.

And to conclude - I had the distinct pleasure of meeting John Maxwell, leadership guru and best-selling author, at the Faith & Business Forum, hosted by Concordia University on August 24. It was very nice to hear Maxwell's perspective on leadership, faith and business in the 21st century. Some of the quotes I liked best were: "In order to fulfill the dream you must have a team" and "in order to go up you must give up."
