Sinan Kanatsiz Named to Girls and Boys Town Board of Trustees
KCOMM CEO Named to Board of Children's Charity
Girls and Boys Town, the 90-year-old nonprofit organization specializing in the treatment and care of abused, abandoned and neglected girls and boys, has announced the election of Sinan Kanatsiz to its Board of Trustees.
Kanatsiz was introduced to the organization through Board Chairman Robert Hartmann. "Since I began working with Girls and Boys Town, I have been impressed and amazed by the work this unique organization does to help our nation's troubled kids," says Kanatsiz.
Girls and Boys Town, originally known as Father Flanagan's Boys' Town, was started by Father Edward Flanagan in 1917 as a home for homeless boys. What began as a small home has grown into a national organization with 19 sites providing more than 46,000 children each year with a safe, caring, loving environment where they learn skills to become productive members of society.
"I look forward to bringing all my friends, colleagues, elected officials and clients to be a part of Girls and Boys Town," said Kanatsiz. "I am honored and humbled to be appointed as a member of the Board of Trustees of Girls and Boys Town of Southern California. After spending much time with the kids and staff of Girls and Boys Town, I can see why this organization is different. Girls and Boys Town works to heal children with difficult pasts through love, hope, discipline and a caring family environment. These children are given the support and unconditional love they need and that for many has been lacking in their lives," says Kanatsiz.
"We are very pleased to have Sinan join the Board of Trustees", says Robert Hartmann, Chairman of Girls and Boys Town. "We believe that Sinan will be instrumental in furthering the mission of Girls and Boys Town as well as helping our organization gain awareness and visibility in Southern California."
