Ascending to the Nation's Capital :.
Trip to D.C. Gives Strong Indicator as to the Future of our Nation
Recently Kai and I took a trip to Washington D.C. and met with several friends, elected officials and world leaders. We had an invaluable opportunity to meet with leaders on both sides of the fence to discuss issues that affect the next generation. We had several meetings with Senators and Congressmen, including Congressman Ed Royce and State Senator Barack Obama.
We also had the opportunity to experience Washington D.C. in a way never expected. In addition to visiting the Smithsonian and Arlington National Cemetary, we had the opportunity to dine with Presidential nominees, national congressmen and tour the Capital in a detailed fashion. Our experiences included walking on the Senate Floor as McCain and Kennedy were voting on national reform on immigration.
Our top recommendation is to stay in Georgetown.

Generation NeXt Hosts State Senator Tom McClintock and Assemblywoman Bonnie Garcia :.
Event Staged at Mozambique Restaurant in Laguna Beach
Generation NeXt (Gen NeXt) was pleased and honored to recently host these two accomplished and well-respected members of California's legislature: State Senator Tom McClintock and Assemblywoman Bonnie Garcia.
On May 18 at the beautiful Mozambique Restaurant and Coastal Lounge in Laguna Beach, Gen NeXt members and invited guests met with Senator McClintock, candidate for Lieutenant Governor, and Assemblywoman Garcia as they gave an insightful snapshot of important issues facing California, including immigration and the upcoming election season.
Among all voters, Democrat and Republican, no public official in the state of California is more favorably approved than Senator McClintock. He is known by 53 percent of California voters and has an almost 2-to-1 favorability rating, more than any other public official in California. Whether one agrees or disagrees with him, he's earned a reputation for articulating his political philosophy and approach to important issues that affect the next generation. As one of the most unique public officials, his campaign is going to be one of the most competitive.
Assemblywoman Garcia is one of the most dynamic and energetic young legislators. Elected in 2002, Assemblywoman Garcia is the first Latina woman to represent the 80th Assembly District. She was a key member of Governor Schwarzenegger's Transition Team and was named as a California delegate to the 2004 National Republican Convention. Her legislative priorities include removing barriers to keep jobs in California, protecting funding for local government, increasing access to higher education, protecting children from sexual predators, improving child support collection efforts and structural reform in the state budget process.
