OC Register Invites KCOMM To Educate Reporters on Internet
:.
The Orange County Register recently tapped KCOMM for a presentation as part of the newspaper's monthly internal educational seminar series on important trends. With some 20 reporters and editors in attendance, KCOMM CEO Sinan Kanatsiz provided a comprehensive update on the state of the Internet and the latest ways the medium is being used for both communication and marketing.
KCOMM was invited to make this presentation as an outgrowth of the November Internet Marketing Association event which was attended by Register reporters John Gittelsohn and Michele Himmelberg. Based on the breadth and depth of information offered at that event, Himmelberg invited KCOMM to make the internal seminar presentation to help bring other Register reporters up to speed on the ever changing world of the Internet.
Key Information Systems, an IBM Premier Business Partner, and KCOMM Host OC Executives at Nissan Open
:.
KCOMM client Key Information Systems is an IT systems integrator and IBM Premier Business Partner headquartered in Woodland Hills, CA. The highly successful and fast growing firm achieved 60% growth in 2005 over 2004. And it is starting off 2006 with an aggressive mix of marketing, new facilities and new products.
A key element in that strategy was a first-time sponsorship of the 17th Green Panorama Suite at the Nissan Open held in mid-February at the prestigious Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, CA. The Nissan Open is the oldest civic-sponsored event on the PGA Tour, started in 1926 by the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce to support its wide range of community service programs.
The sponsorship is an extension of Key's longstanding community involvement programs as well as an effort to increase the firm's visibility. Key also brought in several co-sponsors for the event including AVNET, Brocade, The Carolina Development Company, IBM Corporation, Microsoft and Q4bis. Throughout the four-day tournament, Key's guests included business partners, customers and other local business leaders. KCOMM's guests from Orange County included Parker Kennedy, Chairman and CEO of First American Corporation, Richard Gallagher, CEO and President of Xytech Systems, and Peter Placey, CEO of California Tax Data Systems.
Community Foundation of Orange Holds Successful Fundraiser
:.
KCOMM joined the Community Foundation of Orange and Chapman University President Dr. James Doti for a festive night benefiting a worthy cause.
On February 4, KCOMM shared a room filled with elected officials, business and community leaders for the Foundation's first annual "Black & White & Orange All Over" gala. The Community Foundation of Orange, an independent non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the greater Orange community, with Dr. Jim Doti as master of ceremonies, raised funds for the Foundation's 2006 outreach programs.
And for those on hand eager to lend a helping hand, the Foundation unveiled a new informational video, produced by KCOMM, the Foundation and Jeff Cole Productions, helping educate people about the Foundation's ambitious mission and range of accomplishments.
With more than 250 guests on hand, the Foundation tripled the night's projected fundraising target by raising over $180,000 for its slate of 2006 programs. The Foundation also presented its inaugural "Community Champion Award" to First American Corporation's Parker Kennedy and named Roger Hobbs as a "Lifetime Community Partner" of the Foundation for their years of generosity and dedication to supporting the Foundation and other local charitable activities.

As Vice President of Public Affairs, Widor will continue managing the strategic activities for clients including strategy development, media relations, corporate positioning, public policy and public awareness campaigns.
