Sinan Kanatsiz and Generation NeXt Host California’s Secretary of State :.
|
|
On October 19, Sinan Kanatsiz, Founder, Generation NeXt, Orange County’s leading organization of young business and community leaders, hosted a fun and informative reception with California’s Secretary of State, Bruce McPherson, at The Cannery waterfront restaurant in Newport Beach.
“Secretary McPherson is a critical ally to our PAC and a strong force within the Sacramento beltway,” says Kanatsiz. “With the special election headed our way next week, the Secretary helped our members and friends better understand the ins and outs of the Governor’s reform issues.”
|
Secretary of State McPherson discussed his crucial role in Sacramento and the importance of voting in this November’s special election, which features numerous initiatives that are vital to California’s future. Secretary McPherson commended Gen NeXt for its active role in reaching out to the younger generation of voters and its leadership in shaping the political and business communities in an effort to provide long term solutions to problems that face the next generation.
Those also in attendance included State Senator and Congressional candidate John Campbell, Santa Ana Councilman Carlos Bustamante, and former vice chairman of the California Republican Party Mario Rodriguez.

Why Not Vote on the Internet? :.
By Sinan Kanatsiz
Imagine how easy life would be if the Government created a tool, online that would allow registered voters to work. Heck, why not? Banks do it, why not the Government? We pay all our bills online and access sensitive information through our banks everyday, imagine if the US Government created a website that simply took in your information, Social Security Number and PIN. You would then be granted access to vote for your local, state-wide or national elected officials.
Online voting is imminent. The question is when? My assumption is 2008, but solely on the local level. In order for Washington DC to initiate a nation-wide Internet vote for President, it would require the cooperation of regional and state-wide governments in order to implement it successfully.
|
|
|
With the advent of online voting, there would be so many benefits, including:
no wait for voting process
no struggles in traffic to drive to voting booth
absolute privacy
100% authentication of who is voting
100% accuracy of the tallying process
Immediate, real-time results without any ballot counting system
Imagine the ballot initiatives that Governor Schwarzenegger is rolling out. The turn out of voters would be triple if there was a website we could turn to and vote through. This would not only help his outcome of success, but it would make our lives easier.
