Generation NeXt Hosts State Senator John Campbell :.

Generation NeXt, Orange County’s leading organization of young business and community leaders, recently hosted a reception with State Senator John Campbell at Ten Asian Bistro in Newport Beach to announce the group’s official endorsement of the Senator in his run for Congress.

Senator Campbell is seeking the 48th Congressional District vacated by Chris Cox, who was recently appointed chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The reception was both informative and entertaining, as Senator Campbell answered questions and spoke with more than 30 Generation NeXt members and invited guests about his public policy goals if elected to Congress. Also in attendance were Congressman Ed Royce and State Senator Abel Maldonado.

“John is exactly the kind of forward thinking candidate that we had in mind when we founded this organization,” said KCOMM CEO Sinan Kanatsiz, Generation NeXt co-founder and board member.

Generation NeXt was formed to give young people an opportunity to take an active role in shaping the current political and business communities, making a difference by empowering individuals and candidates for office who will provide long-term solutions to problems that face our next generation.

KCOMM Relationships Bring IMA and BMA Strengths Together :.

Two of the region’s leading professional marketing associations now have closer ties through the KCOMM group with Sinan Kanatsiz, KCOMM Chairman/CEO, serving as Founder/Chairman of the Internet Marketing Association (IMA) and recent KCOMM addition Dave Holscher, Vice President of Public Relations, serving as President of the SoCal chapter of the Business Marketing Association (BMA).

These organizations, one with roots back to the 1920s and the other having sprung from the Internet revolution, are dedicated to strengthening the SoCal marketing community in the case of BMA and throughout California in the case of IMA. They are also complementary in that BMA holds monthly dinner meetings and presentations on a wide range of B2B marketing topics, while IMA holds larger, periodic events focused on the state of the art in the rapidly changing world of emarketing.

This combination offers a very powerful set of resources with a wide reach for enhancing the expertise and effectiveness of California marketing professionals. The two groups have joined forces in the past and will continue to do so for the benefit of their members.

A Personal Note on a Very Memorable City :.
From Sinan Kanatsiz

I’ve just returned from a trip to Montreal, and it was so enjoyable, I felt compelled to share it in our newsletter. For those who have visited the city, you know its unique blend of Europe and America which I found intoxicating. For starters, the people are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The weather in August is absolutely perfect, and the sights are almost too numerous to describe. But here’s a snapshot based on what we were able to cover in a few short days.
We went from walking the cobblestone streets to watching a joust, then ended up in a horse carriage wandering the streets filled with music and laughter in the air. It felt like traveling through a classic oil painting. And it is very common to see people dining till 2 a.m. with their families and friends on a Tuesday night.

During our stay, we also traveled through the botanical gardens, visited the Olympic stadium, and beat the tom-tom drums in the fields. That experience called to mind a song written by Sting -- "See the sun come down, in the desert sky, as you walk in fields of gold.......".

I was also impressed by the education level of common folks in the city. For example, our cab driver had a master's degree. Canada is evidently a very competitive environment for employment! It was a bit surprising to find the food was a little lacking in quality, but everything else was a bulls eye.

This traveler highly recommends visiting Montreal, and be sure to stay at the Fairmont – by far the best. If possible, get a room on the 18th floor. You'll understand why when you get there. Traveling the world is one of the wonders in life. I must say that Montreal has left a lasting impression on me.
