InMage Systems and iStor Networks Announce Strategic
Partnership at VMworld 2007 for Data Protection

InMage Systems, the leading provider of business continuity and disaster recovery software for medium and large enterprises, has entered into a strategic partnership with iStor Networks to provide a complete storage offering to channel resellers and OEMs. iStor will bundle a lite version of InMage's DR-Scout disaster recovery (DR) and continuous data protection (CDP) software solution with all shipments of its iS325 storage systems. The combined solution debuted at VMworld 2007, the world's largest virtualization industry event.

The iS325 midrange storage array is a powerful foundation for an IP storage area network (SAN) solution, leveraging the speed of iStor's flagship GigaStorATX controller for block-based applications such as disk-to-disk backup and near line storage. Key features include flexible configuration with 4 or 8 port GbE and/or 1 port of 10GbE performance, support for up to 15 high capacity serial ATA drives, and the ability to create multiple simultaneous RAID volumes.

By using a lightweight volume replication agent on the application server and then sending the data to an out-of-band network-based appliance that does all the heavy lifting such as compression, encryption and management, DR-Scout avoids traditional performance problems while providing superior data recovery capabilities.
