Honorary Board Welcomes Two U.S. Congressional Representatives, Governing Board Seeks Two New Members

The Girls and Boys Town of Southern California Honorary Board of Trustees was created earlier this year to add a new dimension to the agency's community relations programs. Among its primary goals are to provide strategic direction and to open up new giving relationships. It provides an additional avenue for busy, influential community and business leaders to become involved while spreading the word among their peers.

The Honorary Board is very pleased to announce the addition of U.S. Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez and U.S. Congressman Adam Schiff as Special Honorary Board Members. Both are actively involved in initiatives for children and recently visited the Trabuco Canyon Residential Campus, including the Tilly's Baby Home, to meet the children and staff for a firsthand look at the important work being done by the agency.

Current members of the Honorary Board include David Justman, Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns; Sinan Kanatsiz, CEO of KCOMM and Co-Founder of Generation Next; Tilly Levine, co-owner of Tilly's; and Leon Myers of Penn Corp. Financial Group.

"We are thrilled to have individuals of this stature as part of the organization," stated Robert Hartmann, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. "They are an indispensable resource as we implement our vision for the agency."

The Governing Board of Trustees has played an integral role in the success of Girls and Boys Town of Southern California since it became an independent affiliate location in 2002. Twelve very talented and dedicated individuals serve on that Board to help guide the agency, increase its visibility in the community, and raise financial support from local donors for the agency of 124 employees. There are currently two openings on the Board. If you are interested in exploring this opportunity to make a significant contribution to the lives of children in this region, please contact President and CEO Keith Diederich at 714-532-2399 x209.
