A SAFE PLACE FOR A NEW START
Girls and Boys Town of Southern California (GBTSC) provides two emergency shelters in Los Angeles County that are much more than safe places to sleep. In fact, they offer the only program of its kind in Southern California. In a loving, family-style environment, GBTSC teaches skills to youth and gives them the power to overcome their complex problems and change their own behaviors. They learn to follow instructions, to solve problems, to overcome fear, to help others, to control their behaviors and to live and work with others in positive and productive ways.
While it is Girls and Boys Town mission to assist children and families in crisis, they currently do not have the facilities to meet the overwhelming need for emergency placements. This new shelter will extend the reach to help, heal and offer hope to hundreds of abused and neglected youth who are working to turn their lives around.
