Celebrations to Come:
The Spirit of Youth Gala
Last year Girls and Boys Town of Southern California presented its second annual Spirit of Youth award to Jayne & Jim Barton - two incredibly loving individuals who have dedicated their time, talents, resources and hearts to the youth who have found help and hope within Girls and Boys Town of Southern California's programs. They have worked tirelessly to get others to believe in the mission of Girls and Boys Town. Their efforts and friendship with the leadership of Tilly's (the hottest apparel specialty chain in Southern California), resulted in gifts of clothing for our children AND a charity golf tournament that raised more than $43,000 for our newly established baby home! Jayne also has enlisted several volunteers to work in the baby home each week.
Mark Your Calendars... With 2005 behind us, Girls and Boys Town is now gearing up for another very successful and exiting gala event. This year the organization will be honoring Lennar Homes at the third annual Spirit of Youth Gala on August 5. Lennar Homes has been Girls and Boys Town's Builder Captain, contributing the most to the six million dollar Capital Campaign.
