Endevco raises $17,000 to support fight for cancer cure through San Juan Capistrano Relay for Life
Endevco Corporation, the leader in sensing solutions for demanding vibration, shock and pressure applications, has continued its commitment to making a difference in the community and contributing to life-enhancing causes through annual participation in the San Juan Capistrano Relay for Life benefiting the American Cancer Society.
This year, the Endevco team raised $17,000 which was over twice the amount generated last year and the second highest of all companies participating in the 2007 Relay. Some 30 Endevco employees walked for at least one hour, and three stayed overnight. In addition, three former Endevco employees returned to walk with their team again this year. The Endevco group was also the only team to maintain someone on the track throughout the entire 24-hour event held July 28 and 29.
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life raises cancer awareness and funds in communities throughout the U.S. to fight the disease. Teams of friends, families and co-workers commit to keeping at least one member walking the track at all times signifying that cancer never sleeps. This year's Relay raised more than $110,000 with 300 participants.
"Endevco is proud to be involved in an event that is so critical in helping to fund research for a cancer cure," said President Scott Silcock. "A great many people in both our community and our company have been affected by cancer, either personally or through family or friends. We believe it is a fundamental corporate responsibility to support efforts to win the fight against this deadly disease."
