Emplicity Sets Sail on High Client Retention and Business Growth

San Pedro, CA

Champagne toasts abound the luxury cruiseliner, The Monarch of the Seas, as Emplicity employees embark on a long weekend of fun and long-awaited kudos for a job well done. "Rewards and incentives give us the extra push and motivation to hitting our numbers," remarks Vic Tanon, Chief Simplicity Officer at Emplicity. In calendar year, 2005, the Irvine,CA - based Professional Employer Organization (PEO) hit record numbers for client retention and revenue growth.

Family Values

More than just a cruise atop Royal Carribbean's luxury-liner, The Monarch of the Seas, the corporate getaway was designed to reinforce the company's family values and the role that spouses and friends play in Emplicity's unprecedented success. It had an impact on benefits guru, Ari Paredes, who remarks, "being able to bring family members reiterated our family values. Its not only the employees, but the families that have supported Emplicity and our clients indirectly."

Having Fun Together

Employees at Emplicity enjoy a fun environment that emphasizes teamwork and relationships. Whether it was the on-board ping pong tournament, laying out at the sun deck, or the mainland excursions, people enjoyed hanging out together and getting to know each other on a more personal level.

"Being able to be relaxed and enjoy each others' company outside of the office, the chance to bond, hang out and get to know each other," was the highlight of the trip for Director of First Impressions, Marlene Alvidrez.

Nime Ashok, the company's financial guru, asserts "The sense of pride in our company and companionship between co-workers was so well thought out and executed. It really motivated people and gave them that extra push of energy and enthusiasm they need as we approach our next goal." Benefits concierge, Victor Dataro realized the diversity of his teammates on the ship and remarks that special events like this, "open us up on a personal level, where you can really get to know a person individually. It fosters teamwork when you can relate on a personal level."

Honest and Sincere Appreciation

On the last night of the trip, the group met for an informal round of thanks from Emplicity's executive board. Praises and kudos were given with both laughter and tears as the friends exchanged their sentiments for a job well done.

A teary-eyed, 10-year veteran Arlene Ontiveros walked away from the special event with fond memories and a sense that she was really appreciated by management and her payroll clients. "It was very thoughtful of our management team to say thank you in such a special way, and I am very thankful for that." To her, the message was clear... someone out there acknowledges all of the hard work, sacrifices and heart and soul that she puts into her job.

Hitting their Vital Factors

To qualify for the trip, the team at Emplicity had strict requirements on revenue growth and client retention. With benchmarks at 26% year over year revenue growth and 92% revenue retention, the team knew their goals wouldn't come easy.

By pursuing constant contact and being available for support, Emplicity's HR Coaches kept their clients happy and engaged. Raising the level of awareness on best practices that managers and supervisors need brought opportunities to assist them with sticky employee issues. "There is no question that we are getting value with Emplicity, especially with the help from Julie, our HR Coach," explains Pete Deutschman of the Buddy Group in Lake Forest, CA. His hi-tech marketing firm has grown from 2 to 30 employees in the last year.

In comparison to the previous year, 2005 brought forth revenue growth at a clip of 27%, due to increased revenue and client retention, internal client growth, and increased sales. In 2006, Emplicity expects to further its growth prospects with the addition of a new sales and service branch in San Antonio, Texas.
